i looked up on the wiki. and it says nowhere what stats enhance the performance of chain blade. so i wanted to ask what they run off of. i cant go off the stat boosts that eaisly since they seem to be all over the place on the stats they give.

It should be Dex and Luck.

Every 2.5 Dex adds +1 to Maximum Chain Slash Damage; 3.5 Dex adds +1 to Minimum Chain Slash Damage.
Every 4 Luck adds +1 to Maximum Chain Slash Damage; 5 Luck adds +1 to Minimum Chain Slash Damage.

So if you had to choose between a dex based food and a luck based food for catering, it would probably be better to go with dex. There aren't really many good foods that deal with both dex and luck in both large quantities that I can find. .. ..I think that means we need more foods!! Never enough foods! :)

If only my dex wasn't dangerously close to the cap...

Depends. Unless you're a giant, Dex is pretty easy to get close to the cap without eating, discounting Light of Eweca Stat boosts and others that bypass the 1500 cap.

Luck is the best bet as most people don't usually have it capped, and thus is better to cater with. (I am sure Catering does not bypass the 1500 cap.)
