The Glorious Past of The Old Mabinogi Community!
Spoiler tags have been fixed.
I know many of you probably don't remember or weren't a part of the past and still so many of you linger around. While the community in all servers may be disconnect now I wanted to share with you guys a piece of what the old Mabi community was like with all the old people. If you are a veteran player and you are from Alexina you will probably find your name here or the names of people you may have known. This isn't strictly just Alexina, but all the other servers had moments like these as well, it's just that Alexina had more crazy people.
So here we go~ A trip down memory lane through Zaro~ = 3=
Player events were a huge thing back when I played.
So I guess this next part will be me helping a lot of people back then.

Basically in all the screenshots you see above. You see immense social networking, players cooperating with other players on a large scale to help each other get things done, people depending on each other, people supporting each other, and lots and lots of people coming together to make amazing things happen. We had a lot of unity and friendship back then and it was easy to rally folks, since nearly all of them would answer the call. They all didn't start quitting until things became too gacha dependent and reforges made the game too p2w, as a result a lot of people got frustrated and left and mostly the shallow fashionogies and the greedy merchant cult remained, this is why the community is so toxic and detached today. Very few people want to help each other and everyone is just out for themselves.
The community back then, while I admit, it wasn't perfect and it was pretty chaotic too and kinda crazy, it was all very fun and we all really helped each other and it was mostly positive. = 3=
Messy.
Requests never went that far, but people did ask me for a lot of extremely rare pages and I'd get them within a day of their request.
When it comes to helping people, no one was more hardcore than me, but I do have my limits you know. = w=
Just some more old screenies.
The rest would be "easy"
Ah right I forgot about the existence of rebirth pots.
If that's the case then I can boost you to level 100, but unfortunately I can't do that alone.
I will have to make new friends to organize an MA run in Avon and I no longer have those people anymore. I'd have to form connections with the new powerful people who are mostly strangers to me.
Add me.
Or perhaps they have this made up vendetta against you. I dunno.
@Shoog Move this back to General Section please. You're the only one left that I can count on! >;(
The way that you describe old mabi is like a large "ocean" of connected players and while it may be true that the quality and types of people playing today are different than they were years ago, I would say that "ponds" have been formed to replace the previous ocean. These ponds are the guilds that remain active and positive in recruiting and providing assistance to new and old players alike (because this game cannot be beaten). And I think that the sense of community that you remember lives on in successor form. I think the altruism system was a small attempt to revive the legendary social aspect of this game but I'm not one of the pessimists who would say that this game is "dead". I find my happiness like I find dust in my house: in minuscule quantities and tiny victories. But you get to the point where you have to empty that vacuum or that dustpan and you can look back and at the little things that you've accomplished that are now bigger than yourself. I have a fondness for this game and its community and I will keep trying to find happiness in it for as long as I can. And I wish the best of the luck and the smallest of victories to you all. Nostalgia isn't a bad thing, but it's how much we've changed that makes nostalgia possible.

Alexina is exclusive to Mabinogi as a server, but Mabinogi is not exclusive to Alexina server.
I mean we could revive it but, people are making it really difficult. Especially on the forums. = ,= Also your image link is broken.
@Shoog YOU WANNA BE VFM OF A DEAD FORUMS NEXT SHOOG? HUH? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? HMM? >:O
Oh.....Falchemist. Okay.
Well let me tell you something. The current community is rotted through and through. It's become a culture of narcissism. I actually dislike altruism, but it was something that was necessary back then since it did make people help others, and people would get the friends and support they needed. Even after they moved my thread here someone else created another thread with a similar title in the General section with a similar name, sending a message that they don't care about the community "Hey look at me and my fashion! But since I don't want this thread to end there I will just have you guys post your fashion that I don't even care about since only mine matters and it's in the OP yipee yay!".
That's what I see.
You know it's be nearly a decade now and you and Platina and whoever else still haven't let it go. Even Endy has moved on and he's doing great now, he's successful in his life, but you guys... Like what the heck are you guys doing?
God's work.
Lmao? And what would that be? = w=
It's up for interpretation.
Well a majority of this community is plagued with people who are pessimistic, narcissistic and have severe social anxiety, low self esteem, and insecurity, much of it is linked to mommy and daddy issues, as well as impulsive spending and gambling addiction. That's all that's left anymore.
You wanna do God's work? Then fix this mess for me. I'm going to bed.
That’s a pretty inflammatory and insulting statement to make toward other players/forum members; if I can be blunt, that kind of toxicity is uncalled for, and not conducive for someone who believes they can “fix” a perceived problem with multiple threads showing off a server in the past.
You’re not going to win people over by insulting them or trying to force them to mold to your ideals.
