Sorry to Necro; but this is a mechanic in an MMO called Wizard 101, and there you even get loot from it (which isn't neccisarily what I think people want from this.) and it works amazingly, I'd love to have a little dungeon to decorate, and bonus points if I can use it to train skills.
Long ago, when I did not nearly have as many pets, or bags, as I do today, I personalized several items with the intention to store them in my Me tab. A chain blade, an outfit, a couple other weapons. Therein lies the problem. Those weapons would be better served in a pet's inventory, those outfits would be better served in the Dresser, however personalizing them has permanently made that an in-option (AS FAR AS I'M AWARE, if there is a way, it is not public knowledge or explained well)
I personally think this would be a greatly appreciated feature. Even make it where it doesn't work on those "super rare items that people are only supposed to have one of" etc.
I just really want to sort my inventory better.
