Where we do run into problems would be for people that afk, people like having the luxury to afk and not face penalties. Unless there's a different mode where players can afk in, they will be unhappy.
Then there's storage. Storage of food and food materials should not have spoilage effects, because sometimes certain ingredients or food items are difficult to obtain, and sometimes they want to be kept for later. Also, food should not spoil if being sold in a shop or kiosk because it will become very costly if food spoiled while awaiting a buyer.

I would expect that Mabinogi is written as object oriented code. Since it's on PC only, it's likely to be written in c++ and probably using Microsoft's SDK, which is designed for an object oriented approach to coding. I suspect the database is set up the same way, as data objects, but of course lacking any methods.
It is. ~ As you suspect. ~ C++ .. ~ (it's also a required language if you seek employment on the team).
What if we get titles when the servers merge?
I could see it now. If there's a way to track our previous server and it would result in "(Player Name) previously a Milletian of (Ruairi/Tarlach/Mari/Alexina). I think it would be kind of a fun nod to the servers we grew up in. Either that or "(Player Name) survived the Server Merge!" with a fun little tag in the description about how Ferghus was involved with it. XD
