You know, it is as if the servers Nao and Alexina are jousting, with the newfound Nao aiming to...knock Alexina off its high horse. :p

Wouldn't it be cool if there was separate server for jousting have have people cross server compete in a tournament?

Jousting is lame. Stupid rock paper scissors game.

Any attack beats at least one other attack and loses to at least one more. Psychology and luck do play a roll. In those regards it is like rock paper scissors. Where it differs is that not all attacks are equal. Other than the opening pass, not all attacks are available. Depending on what race the player is, a different bonus attack is available. So, there is strategy to it, since not all decisions are equal. With more familiarity one will discover that there are counter and counter-counter strategies as well. It's a simple game but there is more to it than folks realize. Folks that participate in it regularly against actual players will realize this in due time. Jousting is like Rock Paper Scissors about as much as close combat is.

BTW here is an online version of RPS found on the NY Times website.

It would be worth it if they updated the rewards.

Definitely, although my understanding is that there are some existing items there that are good for erg stuff, though I don't know the details. I know a couple folks whom have made millions selling these things.

A reminder for you Naowegians who like the poking mini-game: this weekend on June 9, you can make it happen. Remember you have to win two preliminaries during the week leading up to the finals to get a ticket to allow you to enter them. The finals need at least 8 people to enter for them to happen. If you face someone in the preliminaries only one of you can win, so to avoid possibly shutting out that need eighth person to make the finals happen, try jousting on an empty channel. If there are no empty channels, pick one that has an even number of people on it, then at least one of you gets to face the computer. This week there will be 10 preliminaries held (normally there are 12, but the merge maintenance will cause the two Monday ones to be cancelled). The preliminaries are held Monday to Saturday at 7PM and 10PM California time, on all 7 channels. The finals are held on Sunday 7PM California time on Channel 2. There is no jousting match held on Sunday at 10PM California time.

This week, you have 10 chances to win twice and you have 7 channels available; it's doable. For those of you who are rusty or new to Mabinogi's Game of Kings, if you follow the instructions in the description of this:

video you should have around a two-thirds chance to beat the computer. Remember to click the YouTube icon so you can view the description.

There was no contest yesterday as only 4 people registered.

Alexina only have 5. I think the 10x event probably had a lot to do with it; I did see more than a dozen at the arena during the week.. Get another ticket and convince a friend to get one too. :)
