As I said they are just playing this out as long as they can. News on the sale will conclude a couple months from now if it hasn't already been secretly concluded (months in advanced). Divestitures and consolidations will commence. These processes can take a couple years. There will be impacts, positive and negative for everyone, mainly negative/"positive" for the customer base - because that's how the world works.
It's rare as hell when a company pulls their heads out of their asses or starts off and keeps their keeps their heads out of their asses. I am not attacking the NA staff when I say this, we all know that they are at their mercy.

I think Nexon was never up at the top in the first place. (Unless this was five or six years ago.)
They've likely been in hot water as soon as year after year of gachapons passed by with hardly anything new added into the game for free.
They'll hardly be missed if they don't modernize the Cash Shop with standard item sales.

Their quarterly reports are indicators as well. And especially when there are certain countries trying to tighten the spending of regular people on "unnecessary" expenses as fears of another economical slowdown become ever evident.
After that is the rich people's problem. No land, no space journey to a terraformed moon.

Anyways, all signs point to Doom once Nexon is purchased.

But the current society refuses to function correctly, but instead functions like cancer cells or as parasites.
While the above concerns may be labeled as alarmist, but an alarm only rings for so long, and before long the time to fix things will not be available.
Let's not go back to last year.
In terms of gachas. Many games have gachas that give guaranteed items, I wonder if they are willing to adopt that. It might boost some sales before he world of gachas collapse.
