    @watercat0 ~ I am well aware of who "first discovered" North America. This doesn't change the fact that Christopher Columbus came here with three ships (The Niña, The Pinta, and The Santa Maria), filled with slaves and masters, and took what he wanted (after he discovered it; probably for the dozenth time in human history); and now today, millions of people honor him with a "day" (including our retarded president who "proclaimed" a day as "Columbus Day"; I guess someone forgot to tell moron-man he can't proclaim something that already is). I have never been more embarrassed to be American in my whole life. ~ The key point is, something can be discovered more than once.

    While I agree we need to get rid of Columbus Day, I wouldn't stoop so low as to say he didn't have anything "to do" with Native Americans.
    @Greta ~ There were people here when other people "discovered it". How did the vikings or anyone find something if it wasn't lost? That's the whole point. None of them were first to discover America, and all of the senseless bickering over who did or didn't is exactly that, senseless.
