I believe the "time since last rebirth" timer counts up during a maintenance, so that would suggest that the time is maintained during a maintenance to some degree.

or the timer did not continue rather it calculated the right time to resume in which case it is not the full 500 hours because time in that world did really stop. In order it to be 500 hours, there need to be no makeup times. The time you only saw is calculated not something that still moved to the next time.

you forgot to remove the maintenance time which means we are not truly close to the 500 years.
