Something is going on at Nexon HQ from news

Whether this means Nexon will have some exclusives there or not is still something we'll have to wait and see.
Consumers seem generally disinterested, or at least worn out in the promise of exclusives- let alone hyped for Google Stadia.
It's a $130 preorder, and every nerd who watched E3 noticed an obvious input lag.
So if Nexon intends to bank on that system, they're taking a large risk if they decide to move the entire launcher into a subscribe only model.
If Google Stadia and Peria Chronicles are released during continuing trade wars, Nexon could be seeing some unpredictable variations in the 2020 profit margin.
Couldn't resist.
Clown in Chief got mad at this today and labeled both China and the US Federal Reserve as enemies of the state and ordered all US companies in China to leave the country as well as announcing that tariffs already in place and those that will be going in effect Sep 1 will raise on Oct 1. Everything that is taxed at 25% will increase to 30% and everything 10% will increase to 15%.

Nexon Co. Ltd. stock appears unchanged...
The deal with Japan isn't final, just FYI. Things could drastically change in a month.
NHK World said quoting the Japanese Trade Ministry that there were still many gaps that have to be sorted out.
A deal with Japan would allow both China and US to bunker in and have less incentive to hurry up and strike a deal. Japan would be used as a middleman of sorts for some goods intended to go to both countries.

Oof, spoke too soon about Nexon's stock.
Pew pew pew
Wow Nexon's stock fell over 25% on the day they released earnings, that was quite a selloff. And looks like investors have been on edge the last couple weeks. But as Tuesday starts, they're up 3%.
So where's that hidden red line? Could it be... Was Pickled Herring actually a bad choice?
No developed product means no work for already overworked and (surprisingly underpaid) KR employees.
So who at Nexon really is on that development team of his, and how much money are they already bleeding out of Nexon?
I despise how Kim let the company sale be cancelled like that. Such a waste of valuable potential money.
If he can't handle Nexon, then then next obvious step should be to give it to an ex employee of a much more reputable company.
(Or at least an employee of your own company)
Loot box laws in NA (via FTC) will happen in five years if he and others can't learn to ask others to help regulate them.
He lost $900k to a loot box rate rigging and non transparent fine in his own country, and yet he somehow can't hire people to make the loot box formula go away. I really, really wonder how the stock market even sees value in investing in Nexon.
The economic situation in many countries is continuing to slide, there are fears that consumer confidence will eventually grow and negatively impact the economy, which for now has been propped up by their spending in some countries.
As I said in the Peira Chronicles thread, now is a good time to consolidate, step back and reassess going forward.
Not really.

Nomination of a person with auditory and legal experience to me, means preparing for compliance of rules and regulations. Which isn't a bad thing, but could spell a potential crackdown to clean things up. Also, can offer flood control over potential and existing discontent with staff and former staff.

Nexon staff rally against project cancellations & restructuring
Approximately 600 staff of South Korean video game publisher Nexon, belonging to the Starting Point union, have demonstrated against project cancellations, studio closures, and restructuring. Around 100 Nexon employees are now suspended following the hold of four projects, including the ‘Project G’ and ‘Peria Chronicles’ titles, reportedly with no guarantees offered for future work. The rally follows a turbulent few months for Nexon, with a failed sale (reportedly worth USD$8.9bn/£7.29bn) and the closure of two of the firm’s North American offices earlier in the year.
Starting Point head Bae Soo-chan told The Korea IT Times, “If the project ends or fails, there are interviews. They don’t give jobs if workers don’t pass the interview. We’re here to make a reasonable claim about job security. In other words, if the project ends and the team is disbanded due to poor games, it is not certain whether the team’s manpower will be relocated, which is why workers in the game industry suffer from constant job insecurity.”
Recap:
After 8 years, Peria Chronicles, one of the most anticipated MMORPGs today, is canceled by Nexon.
