    there's some new changes to status effects too that I noticed... like my character turns red now when she gets petrified, and I don't remember it being there before but the blunt weapon smash effect now has star swirlies over the enemy's head like spinning uppercut gets

    nope. I got the sound when I finished the Festia daily too

    Maybe it's just temporary for all quests while the event is ongoing, or maybe it's permanent XD who knows? it's weird but it doesn't bother me too much

    I may be mistaken, but this sound I believe everyone's referring to is the same sound made when a skill is ranked up in Vindictus.

    Or do you mean turning off sound effects?

    I haven't found an option in the options menu about this specifically.
