Mabinogi has been my place to relax for years and will continue to be.
How I've enjoyed the game for years is don't rush and don't force yourself.
That will limit the money you spend and the stress of trying to catch up with others.
Spend when you want to spend, and properly plan on when and how you want to progress in the game.
Like with all goals in life, make proper feasible and accountable goals.
Don't calculate every lost opportunity (like items from events or sales or expired items).
In game, try not to get caught up with being forced to slave yourself over gold. There will be opportunities to increase your game income, take it slowly.
People always talk about reaching endgame, but I personally believe that is the wrong approach to playing any open sandbox game.
I never understood this mentality and will never understand it. Perhaps it's herd mentality? Someone reached endgame, I want to reach endgame too. I think that is what causes playing games like these to be stressful.
There are still people from beta around, most do not come onto forums much anymore. You may be able to connect with them on the official discord server.
While some folks consider FUD, the game has been relatively stable on an overall level. As always, people can never be satisfied and there's always something to complain about.
Overall, individual players are incentivized to level up and rank skills up quickly as the newer storylines become overwhelmingly challenging for the easy going players.
There are much more talents and always new features being added as well.
There's always people leaving, some returnees and some new players. Population wise, it's still stable enough to prevent the game from being axed.
As one of Nexon's original staple games, it's definitely worth coming back having a look.
Customer service as improved since way back, but remember you will have to provide as much necessary info as they need to help you with your problems and always have enough patience to wait for a reply. They are people like you, and treating them with respect will in turn treat you the customer with respect.
While 6 mil is no longer considered rich, you can still get by with that amount and it's a lot easier to earn more gold now than back then.
