  • G23 Manannan and Boss Fight Help?

It helps immensely to be able to tank the damage you'll most likely be facing from the mobs of servants.

If I remember correctly, the fight is two parts.
The first part you need to kill a certain number of servants, which I'm guessing is the part you're concerned with.
I think the enemies spam lightning-element attacks, so beforehand make sure you enchant all the things you plan to wear using Lightning Elementals. You can use a lightning-type wand to gather these from Lightning Sprites, like the ones you can find on Ceo Island. Right click the sprites to see the 'Gather' option. (make sure not to wear a shield when harvesting)

Have you done the previous generations?
Because if you have, and have access to Nascent Divinity, that can help out.
Transform using that and you'll have Adv Heavy stander, which will make it so you can't get stunlocked by all the servants.
Use Shield of Trust every chance you get, since during Nascent Divinity it lets you absorb damage (shown by the damage you take being yellow numbers)
Then just make sure you have your strongest weapon equipped and start using Divine Blast, which is the basic attack during that transformation.
Timed well, it's a guaranteed crit that gets stronger as you gain more stacks of divine power, and in turn generates 1 stack of power with every perfectly timed hit.

The transformation should last long enough to take out all the required servants, and using Shield of Trust's damage blocking effects should let you survive anything they hit you with, though if you're defensively weak (like wearing only clothing and not light/heavy armor) then you should still bring potions. Make sure the wear the New Divinity title for an extra 30 seconds of transformation time as well.

After the servant fighting, you enter the second phase of the battle where you have to live for ~5 minutes against Manannan's attacks.
You can't kill him, so just equip defensive equipment, especially a shield, and run away while keeping Defense up and using any potions or other recovery methods you want and tank it out.

    Shadow Bind? Um... What?

Maybe because it doesn't work on a lot of enemies.

    Like Golems.
    Or Adv Heavies.
Or whatever the game doesn't feel like letting you bind.

I'd like to add Barrier Spikes to the list, please.
Not because it's hard to train or anything. (especially since you don't have to chop wood these days)
And it's not that I don't want to use it, it's that the GAME DOESN'T WANT YOU TO USE IT.

I hate-hate-hate when you're running something and think "Oh, the enemy's going to use ranged attacks, I'll just raise some barrier spikes." and that game goes "You cannot use that skill here."

I guess this is a problem with other skills, like Campfire and certain skills while rafting/ballooning, but this one is something I dislike the most.

Oh well... with how Barrier Spikes don't scale with any stat, they'd probably just be destroyed in a single hit from higher-tier enemies anyways...

  • Husbando and Waifu Voting Contest 2020!

    Hey, Coco's on the poll.
I wish she was still in the game, along with Ropa. That old Beauty Shop was neat and the music in it was nice as well.

I can't remember, but didn't they implement an NPC portrait for Ropa, but by the time they did for us we already had the Beauty Shop removed?

I'm sure everyone knows this (but I found out a few days ago).. but apparently Rain Cast replenishes gathering spots.
I use it on one field while I gather from the other, helps quite a bit (especially with the Lord of the Seas outfit)

I also find it disappointing that Phantasmal Sight doesn't work on the Silvervine. I know it doesn't work for Fractal Wells, which also is really stupid..

Rain Casting (and regular rain too) doesn't really "replenish" gathering spots. They still restock just as fast as normal.
But when gathering under a raincloud, each gather actually takes away something like 0.8x as much gathering point stock as normal, essentially allowing you to gather more from a spot.
You can notice this if you use rain casting when gathering from a pet.
Like an herb pet normally loses 5 MP when you pick an herb, but if it's raining, then they only lose 4 MP.
It's not making their MP come back any faster, but it's lowering how quickly they get depleted.
Same thing applies to normal gathering nodes. (just know raincasting doesn't affect every type of gathering, like Metallurgy or Ecology)
